from
a conservation score file
Introduction:
This function is the same as that of the File/Open/.msf
& .helixseq file, except that the .score file is read in directly as
it has been created from a previous run of VHMPT.
Instructions:
-
Step 1:
-
Choose File/Open/.score & .helixseq
file and you can see a Read Score dialog box (Fig. 7) open.

-
Step 2:
-
Enter a filename in the field of ".score FileName"
(Note that the .score file is generated previously by File/Open/.msf
& .seg* file.), or use the "Browse ..." button to select it. Then
provide the amino acid sequence range of each transmembrane (TM) helix
in the protein. You can input these helices' beginning and ending sequence
numbers with a file (See Fig. 8a) or type them manually (Fig. 8b).
(For manual input, the maximal number of helices is currently set to 30.)
For a detail description of the files .score
and .helixseq, see Appendix D and
A.

Step 3:
-
Choose OK, and you can see VHMPT draw the topology
of the protein (Fig. 3).
